Rare 1866 Icelandic Bible (Lundúnabiblía edition), printed in London under the auspices of the British / Foreign Bible Society. Contains Heilög ritning (Holy Scripture) in Icelandic, covering Old & New Testaments. Measures approx 9.25″ × 5.75″. Leather-bound (original binding), gilt initials “M.S." on cover. A valuable piece for collectors of Nordic Bibles, Icelandic literature, or religious antiquarian books.
The cover has wear including tears to the leather. The binding is fragile but intact with partial casing loss at spine. The interior shows some age-toning / foxing primarily towards the front and back. Pages remain legible and intact. See pictures for further details on condition.
